Kanako Tsuruta
Plastic Artist / Multilingual Translator / Art Historian
Born in Fukuoka, Japan. Studies in Aesthetics, History of Art, and Museology in Tokyo. Further studies in Spain and Germany.
Since 1991 several stays in different Asian and European countries. From 1993 to 1995 she leads as founder of the artist group Komura (gastrocnemius) in Tokyo. Since 1998 she lives and works in Cologne, Germany. In year of 1999 she begins with the completion of art cribs, Jesus nativity scene mostly with Japanese papers and lights for the international cribs exhibitions and the collectors.
In general she works especially with natural materials such as stones, pieces of shells and glasses, natural colors, different types of papers and textiles etc. In the former exhibitions she has often shown the forms, drawings, light objects, paintings and glass arts and stone sculptures. The main theme of her art is the excision and alienation of feelings and memories, which in general are deeply marked with all the senses.
Since 2007 she works together with the artist 1rey for the project „Poesia Excentrica“, a firm structural concept for an artistic metamorphose of local documentation, landscape art and performance.

Museologist / Conceptual / Plastic Artist
Born in Havana, Cuba, and now lives in Cologne, Germany.
Till now he worked at various museums, archive and other institutions of Cuba, Ethiopia, and Europe.
He founded and leads the alternative group of artists and writers, La Espirogira from 1984 to end of 1989 in Havana. In 1986 he formed the Nacional Association of Young Artists as one of several founders and was president of the same organization at La Casa de las Américas, Havana.
From 1993 to 2007 he leaded the cultural initiative group Archivo Cubano en Colonia in Cologne.
After many individual, group exhibitions and art projects in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa he works together with the artist Kanako Tsuruta for the project „Poesia Excentrica“, a firm structural concept for an art metamorphose of the local documentation, landscape art and performance.
In the center of his activity as artist, there are the study and the experimentation of method. His general plan remits to osmosis between the documentation and the poetic reflection of his artistic experience. Through his career he uses not only the video installations, but also photography, sounds, lights, wax-print matrixes (stencils), heliography and Xerox- photocopy, landscape art etc, mixed with other “traditional techniques“. His presentation is an exercise of the spring of documentation process.
